The Development segment supplies electronic equipment for manufacturing and assembly of printed circuit board prototypes for research institutes, universities, schools, and industrial development departments. The Electronics segment provides production systems for cutting print stencils and laser systems for cutting and drilling rigid and flexible circuit boards, and includes laser induced deep etching (LIDE) technology for high-precision structuring of thin glass and production of glass components. The Welding segment comprises laser systems, thermal process monitoring, and software for welding plastics, and develops standardized standalone and integration systems and tailored solutions. The Solar segment develops and produces laser scribers for structuring thin-film solar cells and offers laser systems for digital printing of functional pastes and inks. Its products are used in electronics, automotive supply, solar, semiconductor, medical technology, biotechnology, research institutions, and universities. Founded in 1976, the company is headquartered in Garbsen, Germany.
