KN Energies joins Baltic Energy Initiative with 14 partners

International energy terminal operator KN Energies has joined the Baltic Energy Initiative, an ORLEN-led partnership of 14 energy companies and organizations from nine Northern and Central European countries. The initiative aims to strengthen regional energy security, infrastructure resilience, and competitiveness through joint projects. Priorities include offshore wind, LNG and bioLNG market integration, a regional hydrogen market, carbon transport and storage, and small modular reactors. The partners will also cooperate on critical infrastructure protection and seek EU and international funding. Signatories include Eesti Energia, Enefit, Fortum, DNV Energy Systems, Topsoe, Siemens Energy, Adven, Steady Energy, P2X Solutions, Latvenergo, Gasgrid Finland, and Vestas.

Cadeler Installs Final Turbine at He Dreiht Offshore Wind Farm

Cadeler has completed the final turbine installation at the 960 MW He Dreiht Offshore Wind Farm in the German North Sea. The final turbines were installed by Wind Keeper under its long-term contract with Vestas. Cadeler's scope was executed using two vessels, with Wind Orca starting in April 2025 and Wind Keeper taking over in the first quarter of 2026. The project marks the first commercial-scale installation of Vestas' V236-15.0 MW flagship turbine, with 64 units installed for developer EnBW. Once fully operational, the wind farm will supply approximately 1.1 million households.

European Shares Modestly Higher In Cautious Trade

European stocks eked out modest gains in cautious trade on Tuesday as investors reacted to mixed earnings updates and awaited interest-rate decisions from the Bank of England and the Federal Reserve later this week. The pan European STOXX 600 was up 0.2 percent at 510.33, while the German DAX, France's CAC 40 and the U.K.'s FTSE 100 all rose around 0.3 percent. Vestas plummeted 11 percent after lowering its EBIT projection for the Service segment to EUR 450 million from EUR 500 million, and Schroders fell almost 12 percent after reporting £2.3 billion of quarterly outflows. Associated British Foods rallied 2.7 percent on strong annual results, and Swiss Re gained 1.1 percent after agreeing to sell its European P&C business to Allianz Direct.

UK launches $20m offshore wind innovation drive

The UK Government has introduced a series of initiatives totalling £15m, or $20m, to accelerate technological innovation in the offshore wind sector. Announced through Innovate UK, the package includes a £10m Offshore Wind Innovation Programme competition for high-potential UK businesses developing advanced turbine technology, next-generation foundations, and future electrical systems. A £5m Wind Innovation Hub will bring together industry, government, and researchers, and will introduce an Innovation Accelerator fund providing up to £2m in targeted technical support for fast-growing offshore wind companies. Additionally, phase one of the Large Structures Innovation Centre on the Isle of Wight will receive £10m from Innovate UK and £2m from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, with Vestas named as its first industry launch partner. UK Energy Minister Michael Shanks said offshore wind is the backbone of the future energy system and that the measures will help businesses grow, support jobs, and speed up the clean power transition.
