Afentra plc is an upstream oil and gas company focused primarily on Africa, engaged in appraisal, exploration, development, and production. It holds a 34% interest in the onshore Odewayne exploration block in Somaliland. In Angola, it holds a 45% non-operated interest in the producing Block 3/05, a 21.33% non-operated interest in the adjacent development Block 3/05A in the Lower Congo Basin, and a 40% operated interest in the adjacent exploration Block 3/24. It also holds a 45% non-operated interest in the prospective Blocks KON19 and KON15 in the western part of the onshore Kwanza Basin. Formerly known as Sterling Energy plc, it changed its name to Afentra plc in May 2021, was incorporated in 1983, and is based in London, United Kingdom.
