Bancroft Fund Ltd. is a closed-ended equity mutual fund launched by GAMCO Investors, Inc. and managed by Gabelli Funds, LLC. It invests in public equity markets, primarily in convertible securities such as convertible debt and convertible preferred stocks, across companies of all market capitalizations. Its portfolio performance is benchmarked against the S&P 500 Index, the Bank of America Merrill Lynch All U.S. Convertibles Index, and the Barclays Balanced U.S. Convertibles Index. Formerly known as Bancroft Convertible Fund, Inc., the fund was formed on April 20, 1971 and is domiciled in the United States.
