Barinthus Biotherapeutics plc, together with its subsidiaries, researches, develops, and commercializes immunotherapies and vaccines in the United States and the United Kingdom. Its pipeline includes VTP-1000, an antigen-specific immune tolerance candidate in Phase I trials aimed at restoring immune non-responsiveness to gluten in celiac disease patients, and VTP-300, an immunotherapy in Phase II trials for chronic hepatitis B virus infection. The company has license agreements with Oxford University Innovation for thermo-responsive adjuvant scaffold products and with the U.S. National Institutes of Health for evaluating synthetic and polymer-based vaccine technology in animal models to prevent infectious disease and treat cancer. Formerly known as Vaccitech plc, it changed its name to Barinthus Biotherapeutics plc in November 2023; it was founded in 2016 and is based in Germantown, Maryland.
