Gladstone Land Corporation is a publicly traded real estate investment trust that acquires and owns farmland and farm-related properties in major U.S. agricultural markets. It owns 150 farms totaling approximately 103,000 acres across 15 states, plus over 55,000 acre-feet of water assets in California. Its farms primarily grow fresh produce annual row crops such as berries and vegetables, as well as permanent crops including almonds, blueberries, figs, olives, pistachios, and wine grapes. Over 30% of its fresh produce acreage is organic or in transition to organic, and nearly 20% of its permanent crop acreage is in that category. The company pays monthly distributions and has made 150 consecutive monthly cash distributions on its common stock since its January 2013 IPO, with a current distribution of $0.0467 per share per month, or $0.5604 per year.
