MFS Charter Income Trust

MFS Charter Income Trust is a closed-end fixed income mutual fund launched and managed by Massachusetts Financial Services Company. It invests in fixed income markets worldwide, primarily in corporate bonds of U.S. and foreign issuers, U.S. and foreign government securities, mortgage-backed and other asset-backed securities, and debt instruments of issuers in emerging market countries. The fund uses a combination of fundamental and quantitative analysis with a bottom-up stock picking approach. It benchmarks its performance against a blend of indices, including the Barclays U.S. High-Yield Corporate Bond 2% Issuer Capped Index, the MFS Charter Income Trust Blended Index, the Barclays U.S. Credit Bond Index, the Barclays U.S. Government/Mortgage Bond Index, the Citigroup World Government Bond Non-Dollar Hedged Index, and the JPMorgan Emerging Markets Bond Index Global. The trust was formed on July 20, 1989 and is domiciled in the United States.
