Nikkei Average Rebounds, Closes 500 Yen Higher at 67,743 Yen; Sansan Surges
The Nikkei Average rebounded on the 14th, closing 500 yen higher at 67,743 yen. It started lower on the back of a decline in US stocks, and at one point in early trading fell by more than 900 yen. However, in the afternoon session, as South Korea's KOSPI index regained composure, movements in AI-related stocks improved, and the index turned positive. Trading value on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Prime Market was approximately 10.76 trillion yen. By sector, mining, shipping, and chemicals posted sharp gains, while only three sectors declined: non-ferrous metals, machinery, and glass and ceramics. Among individual stocks, Sansan surged on the back of a sharp profit increase in the previous fiscal year and a strong profit outlook for the current fiscal year. Meanwhile, Money Forward fell sharply despite raising its full-year operating profit forecast, highlighting a divergence in SaaS-related earnings results.
