Navidea Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing precision immunodiagnostic agents and immunotherapeutics. It operates in two segments: Diagnostic Substances and Therapeutic Development Programs. The company develops the Manocept platform, which targets the CD206 mannose receptor on activated macrophages for diagnostic modalities such as SPECT, PET, gamma-scanning, and intra-operative/optical-fluorescence detection, as well as for delivering therapeutic compounds that target macrophages and immune- and inflammation-related diseases. Its pipeline includes NAV3-31 (completed Phase IIb for imaging repeatability, reproducibility, and stability, and for Tc99m tilmanocept imaging in anti-TNF alpha therapy for moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis), NAV3-35 (Phase IIb for RA imaging), NAV3-33 (Phase III for RA), and NAV3-32 (Phase 2b for RA-involved joints). It is also developing Tc99m tilmanocept for cardiovascular, Kaposi's sarcoma, tuberculosis, and other immunotherapeutic applications. Formerly Neoprobe Corporation, it changed its name to Navidea Biopharmaceuticals, Inc. in January 2012, was incorporated in 1983, and is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio. On October 1, 2025, the company filed a voluntary petition for reorganization under Chapter 11 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
