Pacific Gas and Electric Company

Pacific Gas and Electric Company generates, transmits, distributes, and sells electricity to residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and public street and highway lighting customers in northern and southern California. It also sells natural gas to core customers, such as small commercial and residential customers, and to non-core customers, such as industrial, large commercial, and natural gas-fired electric generation facilities. The company generates electricity using renewable, nuclear, hydroelectric, fossil fuel-fired, and photovoltaic sources. Incorporated in 1905, it is based in Oakland, California, and operates as a subsidiary of PG&E Corporation.
