Spire Inc. is a utility company that purchases, distributes, and sells natural gas to residential, commercial, industrial, and other end-users in the United States. It operates through three segments: Gas Utility, Gas Marketing, and Midstream. The company also markets natural gas and related services, and provides transportation and storage of natural gas. Additionally, it operates a propane pipeline and engages in risk management and other activities. Formerly known as The Laclede Group, Inc., it changed its name to Spire Inc. in April 2016. Founded in 1857, the company is based in Saint Louis, Missouri.
