It operates through three segments: Cloud-based Technology, Traditional Information Technology, and Smart Elevator. The company offers cloud-based products, high-end data storage servers, and related services to private sectors such as new media, healthcare, education, and residential community management. It also provides advertising and elevator services, engages in wastewater treatment and AI-related products and solutions, and operates the Taoping Net advertising-resources trading platform and the Taoping App. Formerly known as China Information Technology, Inc., it changed its name to Taoping Inc. in June 2018. Founded in 1993, it is headquartered in Tianjin, the People's Republic of China.
