Invesco Municipal Trust is a closed-ended fixed income mutual fund launched by Invesco Ltd. It is co-managed by Invesco Advisers, Inc., INVESCO Asset Management (Japan) Limited, INVESCO Asset Management Deutschland GmbH, INVESCO Asset Management Limited, Invesco Hong Kong Limited, INVESCO Senior Secured Management, Inc., and Invesco Canada Ltd. The fund primarily invests in investment grade municipal securities, including municipal bonds, municipal notes, municipal commercial paper, and lease obligations, using fundamental analysis with a bottom-up security selection approach. It was formerly known as Invesco Van Kampen Municipal Trust, was formed on September 27, 1991, and is domiciled in the United States.
