Invesco Municipal Opportunity Trust is a closed-end fixed income mutual fund launched by Invesco Ltd. It is co-managed by Invesco Advisers, Inc., INVESCO Asset Management (Japan) Limited, INVESCO Asset Management Deutschland GmbH, INVESCO Asset Management Limited, Invesco Canada Ltd., Invesco Hong Kong Limited, and INVESCO Senior Secured Management, Inc. The fund invests primarily in investment grade U.S. municipal securities, including municipal bonds, notes, commercial paper, and lease obligations, using fundamental analysis with a bottom-up security selection approach. Formerly known as Invesco Van Kampen Municipal Opportunity Trust, it was formed on April 24, 1992 and is domiciled in the United States.
