Solana Foundationの技術担当バイスプレジデントJacob Creech氏は8月21日、Solanaのスロット時間が350ミリ秒に短縮されたと明らかにした。ネットワーク誕生以来初の短縮で、承認済み提案SIMD-0525に基づく400ミリ秒から200ミリ秒への移行の第1歩となる。短縮は50ミリ秒ずつ4段階で進み、各段階は個別の機能ゲートで別々のエポックに有効化される。Anzaが開発したクライアントAgave v4.2で全4段階の有効化を目指すが、日程は暫定だという。財団は低遅延による競争力と検閲耐性の向上を理由に挙げ、SOL価格への直接的な影響は限定的との見方がある一方、最速チェーンというストーリーを裏付ける材料となるとしている。
