Abbisko Therapeutics and AstraZeneca have entered a strategic collaboration to jointly develop a combination therapy for EGFR-mutated, PD-L1 positive non-small cell lung cancer. The partnership follows China's National Medical Products Administration clearing a Phase 1/2 study on May 20, 2026, evaluating Abbisko's oral PD-L1 inhibitor lumipodlin with AstraZeneca's EGFR-targeted therapy Tagrisso. Abbisko will lead the Phase 2 trial, with both companies sharing clinical responsibilities. The combination targets a treatment gap where patients with both EGFR mutations and high PD-L1 expression derive less benefit from EGFR-TKI therapy alone.
