Abbott Laboratories raised its full-year profit forecast on Thursday, driven by rising demand for medical devices and diagnostic tests. Second-quarter sales rose 13% to $12.6 billion, boosted by the $21 billion acquisition of cancer screening leader Exact Sciences in March. Worldwide diagnostics sales surged 42.3% to $3.1 billion, while medical device revenue grew 9% to $5.9 billion. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $1.31, beating Wall Street estimates of $1.28. Management now expects full-year adjusted earnings per share between $5.45 and $5.60, up from a prior range of $5.38 to $5.58, and comparable sales growth of 6.5% to 7.5% in 2026.
