Akamai Technologies IncCloud Infrastructure revenue up 39% on AI demand, with $2.8B in commitments and $500M capex.

Akamai Technologies reported strong growth in its Cloud Infrastructure Services segment, with second-quarter 2026 revenue of $99 million, up 39% year over year. The company said demand is being driven by the rapid expansion of AI workloads, particularly inference and AI-agent applications that require low-latency computing closer to end users. Akamai's existing GPU capacity is completely sold out, and the company plans to invest up to $500 million in additional capital expenditure to meet demand. In fiscal 2026, Akamai has signed more than $2.8 billion in multi-year CIS commitments, including a more than $600 million, four-year agreement with a U.S. tech company for robotics-related infrastructure. The company expects CIS revenues to grow at least 50% in constant currency for full-year 2026.
