Alamar Biosciences has launched a nationwide proteomics initiative with multiple leading research universities to accelerate biomarker discovery for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The study will use Alamar’s NULISAseq Neuro 220 multiplex panel, including a new eMTBR-Tau assay, to analyze approximately 21,000 plasma samples from 10,000 participants across U.S. Alzheimer’s Disease Research Centers. Led by Dr. Sarah Biber of Washington University, Dr. Sterling Johnson of the University of Wisconsin, and Dr. Tatiana Foroud of Indiana University’s NCRAD, the project is part of the CLARiTI portfolio and supported by the Alzheimer’s Association, the Robertson Foundation, and an anonymous foundation. All resulting proteomic data will be linked via National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center identifiers and made openly available to the global research community, with a national data challenge planned to spur AI-driven analysis.
