Alamos Gold IncSeismic events and power outage at Young-Davidson mine reduce production guidance by 12% and increase costs.

Alamos Gold has revised its second-quarter production guidance to between 130,000 and 135,000 ounces, a 12% decrease from previous guidance, after seismic events and a power outage impacted its Young-Davidson mine in Ontario. The company said two seismic events last week damaged infrastructure and limited access to higher-grade stopes, while a storm-related power outage in late May caused three days of unplanned downtime. As a result, Young-Davidson production is now expected to be in line with the first quarter, and mining rates are forecast to average about 5,000 tonnes per day for the rest of the year. Consolidated production for 2026 is expected to fall below the low end of guidance, with costs above full-year guidance, and a further update will be provided with second-quarter results in late July. Meanwhile, the Island Gold District continues to perform well, with underground mining rates reaching a record of more than 1,500 tonnes per day in the second quarter and on track to hit 2,000 tonnes per day by year-end. The company also eliminated all remaining 2026 legacy Argonaut gold hedges, repurchasing 35,000 ounces at a cost of $92.3 million, and bought back $30 million of shares in May under its normal course issuer bid.
