Alibaba.com announced that its AI agent platform Accio completed a 107-task benchmark at more than 50% lower estimated cost than OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude Code, with comparable quality, making it the most cost-competitive e-commerce AI tool for small and medium-sized businesses. The estimated total cost for the full task set was $3.69 with Accio, versus $9.27 for Codex and $9.51 for Claude Code. The company also introduced an expanded Accio that unifies research, sourcing, and daily operations into one workspace, with connections to Amazon, Shopify, eBay, TikTok Shop, and Walmart. Alibaba.com has open-sourced its Commerce Agent Bench on GitHub, drawing on real merchant activity from 10 million active SMB users, 1.6 million conversations, and 200,000 execution traces, distilled into 107 tasks across seven categories and four autonomy levels. The announcements were made at CoCreate, Alibaba.com's annual event for entrepreneurs and small businesses.
