Alibaba Group Holding LtdAlibaba's capex on AI has pushed free cash flow negative, and the stock fell 21.3% and trades at a ~30% discount to the fund's valuation

Conventum – Alluvium Global Fund flagged Alibaba Group Holding Limited in its second-quarter 2026 investor letter, noting the stock fell 21.3% and now trades at a circa 30% discount to the fund's valuation. The fund said Alibaba's results centered on AI and how its investments are paying off, with the only disappointing news being that free cash is being chewed up by capital expenses to the point where it has turned negative. The falling share price lifted Alibaba's maintainable earnings yield, on the fund's numbers, to 7.7%, and the Fund's current position in the stock is 2.6%. Alibaba closed at $109.23 per share on September 14, 2026, down 14.03% over the past month and 32.08% over the past 52 weeks, with a market capitalization of $268.48 billion and a 52-week range of $91.99 to $192.67. The fund itself declined 1.4% in EUR terms, 2.2% in USD terms and 3.9% in AUD terms in the quarter, a period it described as a sharp shift from geopolitical uncertainty and oil market volatility to an equity rally led by semiconductor companies.
