Alphabet will be added to the Dow Jones Industrial Average on June 29, replacing Verizon. The Google parent company's inclusion in the blue-chip index comes as its shares recently suffered their worst day in a year, triggered by the departure of two key AI researchers—Noam Shazeer to OpenAI and John Jumper to Anthropic. Alphabet reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of $109.9 billion, up 22% year-over-year, with cloud revenue surging 63% to $20 billion and earnings per share of $5.11, beating estimates. The company also raised its quarterly dividend to $0.22 per share and projected capital expenditures of $180 to $190 billion for the year. Analysts rate the stock a Strong Buy with a mean target price of $433.63, implying about 25.6% upside.
