Alstom confirmed its fiscal year 2026/27 outlook after reporting first-quarter sales of €4,734 million, up 4.9% on a reported basis and 4.8% organically. Order intake fell 37% to €2,560 million, yielding a book-to-bill ratio of 0.5x, though the company expects commercial momentum to accelerate in the second quarter. Key operational milestones included TGV-M homologation in France, delivery of the first Multilevel III vehicle to NJ TRANSIT in the United States, and the entry into passenger service of the X'trapolis 2.0 train in Melbourne and Africa's first monorail system in Egypt. The backlog stood at €102.8 billion at the end of June 2026. The group continues to target a book-to-bill ratio above 1, organic sales growth around 5%, an adjusted EBIT margin around 6.5%, and positive free cash flow for the full year.
