Amata Corporation Public Company LimitedAMATA subsidiary signs MOU with PTT to study EV truck park, potentially increasing demand for its industrial estate services.

Amata City Lao, a subsidiary of AMATA, has signed a memorandum of understanding with PTT Lao Limited to study the feasibility of an EV Truck Park project within the Amata Smart and Eco City industrial estates in Nah Moh and Na Teuy, Lao PDR. The goal is to develop infrastructure supporting electric trucks on the Thailand–Laos–China economic corridor, enhance cross-border transport efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and support Lao PDR in becoming a regional logistics hub. Both parties will jointly study site suitability, assess technical potential, analyze investment models, and establish a joint working committee. Amata City Lao will provide land and coordinate with government agencies, while PTT Lao will contribute technology, energy systems, and infrastructure design. The EV Truck Park is envisioned as a one-stop service center for electric trucks, featuring high-power charging systems and facilities to boost long-haul transport efficiency and support commercial use. The Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of Lao PDR stated that the ministry is fully prepared to support the project, as it aligns with the national policy aiming to increase the share of electric vehicles to 30% by 2030. It also marks the beginning of integrating electric truck transport with the Laos–China railway to attract foreign investment and elevate Lao PDR's role as a regional land transport hub.
