AMATA is advancing green logistics development in Laos after Amata City Lao Company Limited, a subsidiary of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, and PTT Lao Company Limited signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly study the feasibility of developing an EV Truck Park to support electric trucks on the Thailand–Laos–China economic corridor, along with clean energy infrastructure and green logistics systems. The project will be developed in the Amata Smart and Eco City Namor in Oudomxay Province and Amata Smart and Eco City Nateuy in Luang Namtha Province to facilitate cross-border freight, improve travel efficiency, reduce logistics costs, and cut carbon emissions. Dr. Manothong Vongsay, Vice Minister of Industry and Commerce of Laos, stated that the government supports the EV Truck Park project as it aligns with the goal of increasing the share of electric vehicles to 30 percent by 2030, along with developing charging stations, service centers, and EV support systems. Mr. Varong Tangpraprutgul, Managing Director of Amata City Lao Company Limited, said this collaboration is a key step in studying infrastructure development for electric trucks in northern Laos, combining Amata's industrial city development capabilities with PTT Laos's energy expertise. Mr. Peerawet Na Ranong, Managing Director of PTT Lao Company Limited, said the company will support technology, energy systems, and infrastructure to develop seamless clean energy transport. Under the partnership, both parties will jointly study the site, investment model, and technical suitability, with the EV Truck Park to be developed as a one-stop service center for electric trucks, featuring high-speed charging systems and facilities for transport operators.
