Amazon’s total quarterly revenue reached $181.5 billion, while Shopify’s was $3.2 billion. Amazon’s net income margin stood at 17% for the quarter ended March 31, 2026, whereas Shopify’s was negative 18%. Amazon has been expanding into proprietary artificial intelligence models and recently issued $25 billion in bonds to fund AI infrastructure, while Shopify focuses on providing AI-enhanced tools for smaller merchants. Amazon’s stock trades at a price-to-sales ratio of four, compared to Shopify’s 13, and Shopify’s shares hit a 52-week low of $94 in May.
