Amazon.com IncExpected strong AWS revenue growth and high capex spending could boost earnings and stock valuation.

Amazon CEO Andy Jassy could announce a significant acceleration in Amazon Web Services revenue when the company reports earnings on July 30. AWS, which accounted for 21% of Amazon's total sales but 59% of profits in the first quarter, is the company's fastest-growing segment. Amazon is projected to spend about $200 billion this year on data center capital expenditures, the most of any AI hyperscaler, and much of the new computing capacity is already contracted. If AWS revenue growth reaches the mid-30% range, it could boost Amazon's overall growth and profit picture, potentially driving the stock higher from its current forward earnings multiple of 28.4 times.
