Amazon.com IncAmazon announces $13B additional investment in India AI/cloud infrastructure, expanding AWS data centers.

Amazon plans to spend an additional $13 billion in India by 2030 to expand its AI and cloud infrastructure, building on the $35 billion investment across its businesses in the country that was highlighted in December. The latest investment will go specifically toward expanding Amazon Web Services' data center capacity in Mumbai and Hyderabad. The company will also use the funds to give startups, enterprises, and government organizations access to custom AI chips, managed AI services, cloud technologies, and developer tools. India's government has introduced policies and long-term tax breaks to attract more tech investments, including incentives for hyperscalers to use India-based data centers.
