Amazon.com plans to raise $25 billion through a US dollar bond sale, extending a wave of debt financing among large technology companies as they increase spending on artificial intelligence infrastructure. The offering, structured across eight tranches of fixed and floating-rate notes with maturities from 2029 to 2066, drew peak demand of $62 billion, according to Bloomberg News. Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, including future capital expenditures and repayment of upcoming debt maturities, with Barclays, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley serving as joint book-running managers. The move follows similar actions by peers: Alphabet recently announced an $85 billion equity sale, while Meta completed $25 billion of investment-grade bonds earlier this year after a $30 billion offering in October. Amazon itself previously targeted $37 billion in an oversubscribed bond sale in March.
