Amazon Prime Day saw US retailers generate $8.3 billion in online spend on Tuesday, marking the single biggest e-commerce day so far this year, according to Adobe. The entire four-day event is expected to reach $26.3 billion in total spending, reflecting consumers' responsiveness to discounts amid ongoing price volatility. Traffic from third-party generative AI platforms to retail sites surged over 98% during the Prime event period compared to a year ago, and that traffic now converts about 50% better than traffic from all other sources, a sharp reversal from last year's underperformance. Adobe noted that 40 to 50% of consumers have used generative AI tools at some stage of their buying journey, presenting a significant opportunity for brands to boost visibility and consideration.
