Advanced Micro Devices IncAnthropic deal for up to 2 GW of MI450 GPUs worth tens of billions, plus OpenAI and Meta deals, driving massive product demand.

AMD chair and CEO Lisa Su told Yahoo Finance that the close ties among tech companies in the artificial intelligence ecosystem make sense and will drive long-term efficiency. Su said the industry is more aligned than ever because of the scale of investments, and that knowing what customers need helps AMD prepare. Her comments come as AMD announced a major expansion with Anthropic, which plans to deploy up to 2 gigawatts of AMD’s next-generation Instinct MI450 GPUs in Helios AI rack systems starting in the first half of 2027, a deal that could be worth tens of billions of dollars. AMD also committed to invest up to $5 billion in Anthropic and will work with the company to optimize Claude AI models for AMD hardware. AMD previously signed a deal with OpenAI in October 2025 for 6 gigawatts of GPUs and issued warrants for up to 160 million shares, and struck a similar deal with Meta in February of this year, committing about 20% of the company to those two partners.
