Advanced Micro Devices IncAMD raised server CPU market forecast to >$120B by 2030, driven by AI agent demand, and expects 70%+ Q2 server CPU revenue growth.

Advanced Micro Devices has sharply raised its outlook for the server CPU market, now projecting it will grow at more than 35% annually to exceed $120 billion by 2030, driven by a structural increase in compute requirements tied to agentic AI. The company had previously guided for roughly 18% annual growth, but management cited new demand from AI agents that spawn additional CPU tasks for orchestration and data processing. Data center revenue already surged 57% year-over-year to a record $5.8 billion in the first quarter, and AMD expects server CPU revenue to jump more than 70% year-over-year in the second quarter. The company aims to capture over 50% share of the expanded market, though analysts have pressed management on rising competition from x86 rivals and custom ARM-based chips.
