AMD could narrow or even surpass the hardware gap with Nvidia through its next-generation MI450X and MI550X accelerators, according to a GF Securities note ahead of the company's Advancing AI 2026 event. Analyst Jeff Pu expects the MI450X to close the gap and the MI550X to pull ahead of Nvidia's Rubin Ultra, citing a four-die package and larger high-bandwidth memory. The event is also widely anticipated to unveil a third gigawatt-level customer, Anthropic, with a deal scale exceeding prior agreements with Meta and OpenAI. GF Securities raised its AMD price target to $640 from $511, lifted 2026 and 2027 EPS estimates by 2% and 11%, and increased full-year revenue forecasts to $52.3 billion for 2026 and $82.2 billion for 2027.
