AMD shares rose around 8% in early trading Thursday after the company announced a collaboration with North American AI digital infrastructure provider 5C to develop next-generation gigascale AI campuses. The partnership will combine AMD's AI technology portfolio with 5C's expertise in designing, building, and operating AI infrastructure to support large-scale AI training. 5C CEO Jonathan Ahdoot said the next generation of AI factories will be tightly integrated ecosystems where compute, power, cooling, networking, and operations are planned together around validated, repeatable rack-scale reference designs. AMD executive Andrew Dieckmann added that the collaboration demonstrates how AMD's technology roadmap, paired with leading infrastructure partners, delivers leadership performance and total cost of ownership for the next generation of agentic AI.
