Advanced Micro Devices IncData center revenue up 107% YoY and strong guidance for server revenue growth.
Advanced Micro Devices stock has surged 186% since late August 2025, from $166.62 to $476.67, a move that was not a surprise because the company had already outlined the rack platform and server line behind it. The rally was driven by AMD's acquisition of ZT Systems in March 2025 to build rack-level AI systems, the Helios platform connecting up to 72 GPUs, and the MI400 series slated for 2026. In results reported August 4, 2026, data center revenue hit $6.7 billion of an $11.5 billion quarter, up 107% year over year, with EPYC delivering a fifth straight quarter of record server CPU revenue. Management guides server revenue to grow more than 80% year over year in the second half of 2026, and Helios has secured commitments for up to 2 gigawatts of MI450-series GPUs and 2.5 gigawatts of data center capacity from Core Scientific. However, gaming revenue fell 31% year over year, and the stock remains about 18% below its 52-week high of $580.91.
