Advanced Micro Devices IncAMD projects data-center revenue to reach $70B by 2027, driven by AI GPU demand from customers like Meta, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) has set a bold target for its AI ambitions, projecting its data-center business could reach roughly $70 billion in revenue by 2027, a figure that would roughly double its current size. The company's shares rose over 6% on Tuesday following the announcement. AMD expects AI GPU revenue to hit the low-$40 billion range next year, driven by the MI450 ramp and customers including Meta Platforms, OpenAI, and Anthropic. Production shipments of the MI450 began in the third quarter, with a larger ramp expected in the fourth quarter and further increases in early 2027. AMD also raised its long-term outlook for server CPUs, now estimating that market could reach $220 billion by 2030, up from a previous $60 billion view. To support this expansion, AMD has secured roughly $29 billion to $30 billion in purchase commitments, though it warns that margins may temporarily decline as MI450 production scales.
