American Water has been named to TIME's World's Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list. The recognition, announced on June 25, 2026, comes from a partnership between TIME and Statista, which evaluated over 5,800 global companies on more than 20 key performance indicators including sustainability commitments, reporting transparency, and environmental and social stewardship. American Water, the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., was one of the top 750 companies selected. Cheryl Norton, EVP and Chief Operating Officer, said sustainability principles are fundamental to the company's corporate strategy and values.
