NVIDIA CorporationAmkor's expansion includes $1.5B Nvidia agreement for advanced packaging
Amkor Technology is exploring a potential sale of a stake in its China business, which could value the unit at about $1 billion to $1.5 billion, Bloomberg reported, citing people familiar with the matter. The semiconductor testing company is working with an adviser to prepare for a carveout of the China business and gauge interest from potential buyers, with Asian investment firms and industry players among those approached, while Amkor would retain a minority interest. The discussions are preliminary and no final decisions have been made, with valuation and other terms subject to change. The potential divestment comes as Amkor expands its U.S. footprint, including its Arizona facility, and strengthens its position in advanced packaging, having separately announced in July a $1.5 billion multiyear agreement with Nvidia to expand advanced semiconductor packaging and testing capacity in the U.S.
