Analog Devices reported record revenue of $4.02 billion for its fiscal third quarter, up 11% sequentially and 40% year over year, exceeding the high end of its outlook. Gross margin was 72.5%, down 50 basis points sequentially but up 330 basis points year over year, while operating margin reached 50%, up 100 basis points sequentially and 780 basis points year over year. Earnings per share hit a record $3.45, up 12% sequentially and 68% year over year. Data center revenue, which accounts for 80% of communications revenue, grew more than 100% year over year in both optical and power. The company guided fourth quarter revenue to $4.3 billion plus or minus $100 million and adjusted EPS to $3.86 plus or minus $0.15.
