Anavex Life Sciences CorpPVG is pushing a board reshuffle at Anavex's annual meeting, a governance/control contest with unclear outcome for the company.
Anavex Life Sciences traded higher in the premarket on Friday after PVG Asset Management urged shareholders to vote for its six board nominees at the annual meeting on September 24. PVG, which owns roughly 327,300 shares, criticized the current board for lacking biotech experience and holding only 5,000 shares collectively. The company had previously nominated Gautam Patel and Adrian Senderowicz as new independent directors, replacing ex-CEO Christopher Missling and director Steffen Thomas. PVG argues its nominees bring significant biotech expertise and a stronger stake in the company's performance.
