The study highlights growing demand for GCC services and AI capabilities, positioning HFS Research as a thought leader in this space.
ANSR and HFS Research have released the findings of their inaugural HFS GCC Generative Enterprise Market Pulse study, introducing the HFS Generative GCC Index which scores India's Global Capability Center ecosystem at 61.9, placing it at the entry point of the Transformation Partner stage. The study, based on responses from 47 senior GCC executives, finds that 83 percent of GCCs are now considered mission-critical to their parent enterprises, yet only 17 percent possess full ownership of strategic decisions and financial budgets. It highlights that AI and machine learning represent the fastest-growing capability, with more than half of leaders expanding AI capabilities in the past 18 months, but few have redesigned core operating models around AI. GCCs with true end-to-end product ownership lift their index score by 56 percent compared to execution-only centers, while ecosystem engagement with startups and universities remains limited despite over $45 billion in AI infrastructure investment across India. The research concludes that the next phase of GCC maturity will depend on transferring decision rights, building AI-native operating models, and enabling orchestration of external innovation ecosystems.
