Anthropic is joining the second intake of the UK Financial Conduct Authority's Supercharged Sandbox, a programme that lets firms test advanced artificial intelligence in a controlled setting. Participants will gain access to Anthropic's Claude, Claude Code, and Claude Cowork to support development activity. The second cohort comprises 21 organisations, including Scottish Widows, Money Advice Trust, and TrueLayer, and will explore applications such as safer agent-led payments, fraud detection, AI governance, financial inclusion, and compliance efficiency. The FCA reported that applications rose 51% from the first intake, and the sandbox is backed by NayaOne and NVIDIA. Separately, the FCA has launched the Agentic Academy, a 10-week specialist AI course run with the Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship.
