Anutin and Lawrence Wong Elevate Thai-Singapore Partnership, Advancing Four Pillars

Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong held a joint press conference following the 5th Thailand–Singapore Leaders' Retreat, the first leaders-level meeting in 11 years. Both sides elevated their relationship to a forward-looking strategic partnership and agreed to advance cooperation under four pillars: environment and energy-food security, digital economy and investment, defense and security, and regional strategic coordination. They signed a memorandum of understanding on social development cooperation and agreed to conclude four additional agreements covering the digital economy, transnational crime, food security, and supply chain resilience. Thailand is ready to be a reliable food source for Singapore, building on the agreement to export 100,000 tonnes of Thai rice within five years and expanding to other products. Meanwhile, both sides reaffirmed ASEAN's role in Myanmar, with Thailand serving as a bridge and promoting positive developments.
