U.S. media outlet The Information reported on the 16th, citing people familiar with the matter, that Apple is considering re-entering the enterprise server market through the development of artificial intelligence servers that combine its own chips with the networking technology of semiconductor giant Nvidia. According to the report, Apple is developing an AI server that may be equipped with two or four of its next-generation M8 Ultra chips, and is considering adopting a technology called NVLink Fusion from Nvidia to connect the M8 chips to one another. The server is expected to be launched in 2029 or later, though the plan could be canceled or the product could be released without adopting Nvidia's technology. The move suggests Apple is stepping up its push into the AI infrastructure sector.
