Apple Inc.Memory and chip shortages force Apple to delay standard iPhone 18 to 2027, prioritizing higher-margin Pro models.

Apple is reportedly planning to launch the iPhone 18 Pro series this fall and delay the standard iPhone 18 to the first quarter of 2027, according to supplier commentary reported by Economic Daily News and The Verge. The more affordable iPhone 18e and a new iPhone Air are also expected to launch around early 2027. The move comes as memory and chip shortages force electronics makers to prioritize higher-priced products with better margins. Apple's iPhone revenue reached a record $54.25 billion in its latest quarter, up 21.7% from a year earlier, while total company revenue rose 16% to $109.4 billion. The company has cautioned that supply constraints are very significant and has already announced price increases on some products to offset rising memory costs.
