Apple raised prices on older iPhone models by $100, which may reduce demand.
Apple has raised the prices of its existing iPhone models by $100, a move that coincides with the launch of the iPhone 18 and the foldable iPhone Duo. Starting today, the iPhone 16 starts at $799, the iPhone 17e at $699, the iPhone 17 at $899, and the iPhone Air at $1,099. In some international markets, such as India, the increase is reportedly around 20.5%. The company has also discontinued the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. This pricing strategy is unusual for Apple, as older models typically become cheaper with new releases, but rising memory and storage chip costs, along with competitive pressures, have prompted the change.
