Apple shares rose 4.1% in morning trading after Nikkei Asia reported the company plans to launch at least five new iPhone models and has raised production targets for its first foldable device. The new models are expected between the second half of 2026 and the first half of 2027, with Apple asking suppliers to prepare for about 10 million foldable iPhones, up from an earlier forecast of seven to eight million units. Morgan Stanley analysts said Apple could ship more than 250 million iPhones in fiscal year 2027 if the new foldable models and AI features drive stronger demand. The stock later cooled to $305.86, up 3.9% from the previous close.
