Apple shares rose about 1% on Monday after Bank of America said the company's WWDC 2026 event marked an important step in reshaping its artificial intelligence strategy. Bank of America maintained a Buy rating and a $380 price target on Apple, citing the company's renewed focus on Siri AI. The firm said the upgraded assistant is being positioned as a context-aware tool that can work across Apple's ecosystem, connecting user information, on-screen activity and applications. Apple also introduced details about AFM 3, its latest generation of foundation models, which combines on-device processing with cloud-based computing to handle more demanding AI tasks through external infrastructure while keeping some workloads on users' devices. According to Bank of America, the hybrid design could help Apple expand AI capabilities while managing computing costs, with future economics depending on how frequently requests require advanced processing such as image generation or complex reasoning tasks.
