Applied Optoelectronics shares jumped over 13% after the company completed its first volume shipment of 800G transceivers to a large hyperscale customer and guided full-year 2026 revenue above $1 billion, more than double 2025's total. First-quarter datacenter revenue more than doubled year-over-year to $81.4 million, driving total revenue up 51.4% to $151.14 million. Management guided second-quarter revenue to $180 million to $198 million and expects significantly larger sequential growth starting in the third quarter as additional capacity comes online. The company has nearly doubled its Houston-area manufacturing footprint and exited the quarter with capacity of nearly 100,000 800G units per month, positioning it as a premier U.S. producer of AI-focused datacenter optics. With $449.38 million in cash and shareholders' equity up 257.9% to $1.11 billion, AAOI is funding its ramp without dilution or heavy debt.
